We are big fans of Wikipedia. There has been lots of excitement and speculation in the blogosphere this week about Wikia’s entry into the social search arena. Both Matt Marshall at VentureBeat and Phil Bradley mention comparisons to Collarity and others in their recent posts about the new Wikia search effort.

It was refreshing to hear and speak with Jack Ma at the Web 2.0 Conference in San Francisco last month — we think Jack knows “jack” about web publishing and search. He is the CEO and co-founder of the China-based alibaba.com with over 30 million registered users in more than 200 countries.

‘Tis the season to be “social”… in the blogosphere anyway. We were fascinated with a statistic pointed out by Josh Porter over at Bokardo regarding the the uptick in blog discussions containing the word “social”.
It seems to correlate well with the fact that Time Magazine has named “you” as it’s annual Person of the Year.
